This is Hakozaki Shrine. which is located in hakozaki,fukuoka. One of the three major shrine dedicated to God Hachiman. Who is famous for wardaring off evil influence and bringing good furtune. During the mongol invansion that took place in 1274 and again in 1281. mongol troops attempted to enter fukuoka to capture Japan. but the biggest typoon known as ''kami kaze"which is transtated as "devine wind" compleatly blocked the troops on both occation. It is widely believed that God hachiman saved japan from mongolain troops. Since then, god hachiman has been considered guardian of the nation of japan , and also called the preeminent God of fukuoka Prefecture. Some people also believe that on that day strange soldiers all dressed in white appears at hakozaki shrine and fought back with the mongolain troops but who where those people is still an mysteries.
